Tan cloth boards. 196pp illustrated 8vo. Author links two disparate diaries, one by Freda Schlosberg a farmers 14-year old daughter, and one by Alexander Kay an English doctor and war correspondent. She tells of the looting and burning of farms, he of the siege of Ladysmith. Later in Pretoria paths cross as they meet and she asks him for news of a friend. Interesting entry from Kay's journal re Breaker Morant and the Bushveld Carbineers.
