It then further looks to see whether companies prioritize education when using their Corporate Social Responsibility funds. The study makes use of the information available online to track companies CSR initiative. The researcher further uses interviews to gather in-depth information of the companies' CSR initiatives. The companies studied were selected on the basis that they are all registered with the JSE and are active in CSR activities as is advised by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange Social Responsibility index (JSE SRI). The three companies selected are ABI, Sapref, and Transnet.
