It also attempts to assess the present scenario of Nepal in terms of capital stocks with respect to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the world as a whole. This study also identifies the gaps that need to be fulfilled by the government and the private sectors of Nepal if we are going to meet the target by 2030. The World Bank report stated Nepal has one of the poorest infrastructure services along with Afghanistan and Bangladesh, which resemble the infrastructure situation in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. Nepal has been facing long power outages for the last few years which is temporarily managed by importing electricity from India at a higher price rate in dry season, and the quality of roads has been very poor. Likewise, a significant investment will be required for irrigation, telecommunications, solid waste management, water supply, and sanitation, according to the report. The report said closing the huge infrastructure gap should be a priority for the South Asia in order to meet its development goals, poverty alleviation and shared prosperity.
