Along with my research, I use case studies and interviews to describe how many of these urban congregations and organizations work selflessly with limited resources to achieve their unique styles of mission; and they are doing it in their own backyard in their own country. Thus, birthing the title of this book, Mission on the Block; Various Concepts of Urban Ministry. In addition to my doctoral thesis, I produced a documentary entitled, Mission on the Block. It was important to me to give my audience a visual background of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, Allison Hill, where I currently serve as a pastor.
