Eigentlich hätte Kate Powell allen Grund, mit sich und der Welt zufrieden zu sein. Flammenbrut nämlich ist ein Roman des Autors, der im Original bereits 1997 erschienen ist. Wer also einen grausigen Dr.-HunterThriller erwartet, wird bitterlich enttäuscht. Wer sich Flammenbrut aber unvermittelt nähert, wird von dem psychologisch feinfühligen (und dadurch unterschwellig nicht weniger grausigen) Plot des Buchs mehr als positiv überrascht.
