Diary of Tao Tao: The Diary of Tao Tao is a memoir of the author Tao Tao`s thirty years of personal life from 1949 to 1979, and features his true memory about these thirty years when he experienced the most ups and downs of life. The author Tao Tao was born in Huai`an, Jiangsu, and was admitted to the twenty-third session of the Whampoa Military Academy in 1948. On December 1949, he was placed in the western Sichuan branch of the Military and Political University of Resistance Against Japan after the uprising of the Academy in Chengdu region. He has served successively as the language teacher in the Cavalry Regiment of the PLA Western Sichuan Military Region, No.1 Cultural Speed-Up Educational Middle School in the Southwest Military Area Command, No. 2 Political Cadre School, and No. 1 Cultural Normal School, etc. In 1955, he was demobilized. In 1956, he was admitted to the Department of History, Jiangsu Normal College. In the winter of 1958, he was sentenced to seven years for rightist elements and counter-revolution in history, reformed through labor on Xiangride Farm in Qinghai province, and stayed working on the farm after the expiration of the imprisonment under sentence. In the winter of 1979, he was rehabilitated and served as a senior lecturer at Jiangsu Huai`an Normal School.
