Dr. Fordwor's new book is a valuable contribution to Ghana's history. By profession, he is a financial and business expert, not a historian. But he writes as a witness to the inner workings of the Party. He writes well and fluently. The book makes interesting reading. It should be a useful guide to the younger generation of Ghanaians. Two-thirds of the book thoughtfully surveys Ghana's political history. Virtually all consider this as sensible and non-controversial. In the other third, he paints the Tradition's "warts and all". This book traces the origins, defines the mission and analyses the achievements of the Danquah-Busia Tradition, one of the main political traditions in the politics of Ghana. Not only that, it gives a portrayal of people who have come into positions of leadership in Ghana. It sheds light on where politicians failed the country and why; and where our politicians did their best and how. Almost everybody who has mattered in the politics of Ghana, from 1948 to date, has been given a well-deserved and dignified mention. This book basically has three parts. The historical section that narrates the history of Ghana's politics from pre-independence to post-independence. The second part assesses the various governments of the Danquah-Busia Tradition and the third part consist of 26 very interesting appendices dating as far back as 1948.
