He studied law, emigrated in 1755 and settled in Philadelphia as conveyancer and lawyer.. Weiss took a very active interest in public life. In 1764 he took the side of the proprietaries against B. Franklin, in 1776 he was a staunch supporter of the revolutionary party, in 1782 he bravely denounced the massacre of Indians at the Muskingam as a fiendish outrage. He was one of the founders of the German Society, its first attorney (1764--1777), vice-president in 1781 and president in 1782. His death occurred in 1796. A most Remarkable Prophecy concerning Wars and Political Events; especially the Glorious King of Prussia. Taken from an ancient Latin Manuscript said to be deposited in the Bodleyan Library. With an attempt towards an Explanation. 4to. 8 pp. Hildeburn. Henrich Miller born 1702 at Khoden in the Principality of Waldeek, was a professional printer almost from boyhood. He was a passionate traveller, and in course of time worked as printer in Zurich, Leipzig, Altona, London, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, Paris, Philadelphia, (in 1742), Marienburg where he established a business, again in England, Scotland, Philadelphia (1751, employed by Benjamin Franklin). Went back to Germany, set up in London a press of his own and in 1760 reached Philadelphia for the third time. He printed many German and English books, retired from business in 1779 and died in Bethlehem, March 31, 1782. His religious convictions and sympathies were on the side of the Moravians.
