This must have been a horrible way to die, when the Old Testament was written. Statements like these only reinforced my beliefs about creating fearful followers. People who fear this type of death, could easily be persuaded to follow the rules.38. Job 2:3 (American Standard Version) And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil: and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. It's hard to imagine God gambling with people's lives, but it happened in the book of Job. God made a wager with Satan and Satan destroyed Job's entire family. If God knows everything in the future, why would he need to make a wager with anyone? If God doesn't know the future, how did the Book of Revelations ever get written?The book of Job was one of my favorite books in the Bible, until I realized two things. Either God can't see the future or some people's lives are worthless. In the book of Job, the author keeps referring to Job as an upright and faithful follower of God and this is how God returns Job's loyalty and faithfulness.
